President Obama Announces NOAA/NIST/MBDA Partnership at White House Demo Day

The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) is partnering with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to launch the Minority Business Enterprise Technology Transfer Initiative, focusing on the creation of regional innovation ecosystems related to approximately 300 Federal labs at 11 agencies. This initiative will help equip aspiring and established technology entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds with the skills needed to bring innovative products and services to market.

Arctic Shield 2015: Autonomous and Piloted Aircraft Fly Search and Rescue Exercise

On July 14, 2015, NOAA conducted a Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX) north of Alaska on board the US Coast Guard Cutter Healy  This effort successfully integrated an Unmanned Aircraft Systemor UAS into a simulated response incident.  This exercise is one of many NOAA's UAS Program is conducting under Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs) with US industry.

Hollings Lab and Algaeventure Systems: Looking for Benefits in Harmful Algal Blooms

The NOAA Ocean Service Hollings Laboratory Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA), with Algaeventure Systems (dba Biosortia Pharmaceuticals), which was originally signed in 2012 and recently amended in 2014, has resulted in a wide array of successful outcomes for NOAA, and for its CRADA partners.
