Representatives from NOAA's Technology Partnerships Office attended the SBIR/STTR National Conference November 13-14 in Portland, Oregon. The conference allowed NOAA's SBIR program manager an opportunity to present to hundreds of small businesses from Portland and across the country.
Business representatives attending the event were interested in learning more about contracts provided through the Small Business Innovation Research Program at NOAA and other federal science agencies.
In addition to an overview presentation, TPO representatives had a full day of face-to-face meetings with small business representatives to learn about their capabilities. TPO provided information on how to apply to compete in its upcoming SBIR solicitation, and provided general information on partnering with NOAA labs.
The NOAA SBIR solicitation is due to be released in late November of 2012 and should feature 10 sub-topics from across its various mission capabilities. Firms meeting the SBIR qualifications will be able to compete for Phase 1 awards during the upcoming solicitation.
