SBIR Fall Innovation Conference Comes to National Harbor

Networking opportunities, program sessions, workshops, and meetings with SBIR agencies, all in one location

SBIR Fall Innovation Conference Comes to National Harbor
Last week, the NOAA Technology Partnerships Office attended the conference in National Harbor, Maryland with the goal of connecting with small businesses in need of research grants in NOAA mission related functions with excellent commercial potential. Networking opportunities, program sessions, workshops, and meeting with SBIR agencies, were just a few of the benefits of attending the SBIR/STTR Fall Innovation Conference.

NOAA's SBIR was one of eleven SBIR/STTR agencies in attendance. During the day, conference participants had the opportunity to choose among various workshops and panel discussions to discuss SBIR/STTR accounting basics, proposal preparation and proposal development. Also, NOAA SBIR participated in agency briefings which allowed agency representatives to present on current and upcoming funding opportunities.

Interested companies had the opportunity to speak with NOAA TPO staff at our NOAA SBIR booth in the exhibit hall. The expo was an energetic information center filled with over 90 booths belonging to different agencies and businesses creating the optimal networking center. This was the opportune place for small businesses to get tips on how to receive federal funding and to identify an agency that best aligns with their area of expertise while supporting the agency’s mission. In just two days the NOAA SBIR team connected with over 30 small businesses.
