NOAA Technology Partnerships Office Conducts Training and Outreach Visit to Mississippi and Florida

Kelly Wright, Director of the NOAA Technology Partnerships Office (TPO), and Derek Parks, the NOAA Technology Transfer Program Manager, have just completed a successful trip to NOAA facilities in Stennis, Mississippi, and Miami, Florida, where they provided training on Technology Transfer and the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program to lab staff from multiple NOAA Line Offices.  Kelly and Derek also met with tech transfer representatives from NASA, and the U.S. Navy, with the goal of future collaboration on technology transfer efforts coming out of Stennis Space Center.

The NOAA TPO group also presented to a private sector business forum sponsored by the Mississippi Enterprise for Technology.  The forum was an excellent opportunity to meet directly with private companies that have an interest in working directly with NOAA.  The training, outreach, and the regional partnership meetings are all part of NOAA's ongoing effort to respond to the Lab-to-Market Cross Agency Priority Goal under the President's Management Agenda.
