The goal of NOAA’s Technology Transfer and SBIR Programs is to maximize the benefit of the taxpayer investment in the research and development activities at NOAA.  We do this by making sure the innovative technologies developed in NOAA’s Labs, Programs, and Science Centers and by Small Businesses under our SBIR grant program are widely available for use and adoption by the public and U.S. industry. 

The NOAA Technology Marketplace is a resource for the public and industry to find the latest technologies that are available. Technologies are available through a variety of means including Open Source Licenses (royalty free), Restricted Use Licenses (exclusive, non-exclusive, royalty), and for Direct Purchase (SBIR technologies).
