Exploring Autonomous Underwater Vehicles for ocean research and monitoring

Aqua Satellite Inc. & NOAA Office of National Marine Sanctuaries (ONMS) will partner together to explore the application of small, low cost Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) to NOAA’s ocean research and monitoring charters to decrease the cost of collecting ocean data. Collaborating on Salmon Surveys along the West Coast Continental US

Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC) and Oregon State University collaboration will focus on salmon surveys along the West Coast that includes physical oceanographic measurements, biological samples of plankton and fish, distribution and abundance of bird species, and information on salmon prey fields.
